My Beauty Must Haves & July Empties

I can’t believe it’s already July and that we are halfway through 2017. Since it is a new month, I decided to round up some of the products I use religiously. Some I have just discovered a couple months ago and some I have been using for years.

MAC Cosmetics—Foundation, Setting Powder, & Lipstick

MAC Satin Lipstick in the shade “Verve” is my go-to lipstick. I own over 30 MAC lipsticks, both satin and matte, and verve is by far my favorite shade. I have been using it for over 3 years. It is a muted, brownish plum, and it is so gorgeous. I usually put it on last with my urban decay setting spray and lasts all day. I do of course keep it in my purse to touch up here and there if need be. Some of my other favorite shades I go to if I’m completely out are Whirl, Retro, and Smoked Purple.

MAC ‘Mineralize’ Skin finish Natural Powder has also been in my makeup bag for a couple of years. It was a game changer when I first discovered it, and I was surprised at how it set my concealer around my problem areas, like under my eyes and nose. I’ve tried many translucent powders and they just don’t work for me, so I use this in the shade light to set my foundation. I use MAC’S Studio Fix fluid foundation in the shade NC13. As you can tell from the photos, I am definitely in need of a trip to MAC!

Skin Care—Benefit & Bliss to Minimize Appearance of Pores

Benefits the POREfessional pro balm is my favorite primer. It can be used as either a primer or by itself, so when I don’t want to do my makeup I just wear it with my moisturizer. It is a little pricey for the amount of product you get, but it works great. I use this primer about everyday along with exfoliating with my bliss pore perfection facial polish and it has minimized the appearance of the pores on my problem areas tremendously.

Bliss’ Pore Perfection Facial Polish has saved my skin and I use it almost every day. I can’t get enough of this product, and it is so worth the money. You can read more about it on my other blog post, here.

Victoria’s Secret—Perfume, Body Mist, & Lotion

I have been using Victoria’s Secret Noir Tease perfume for years, and as you can see, I am almost out of both my perfume and body mist! I usually put on the perfume first, which lasts about 8 hours; I use the body mist if needed throughout the day, usually keeping it in my car or purse.  It’s not an overpowering scent, it is a mix of black vanilla, frozen pear, and blooming gardenia. As Victoria’s Secret has with almost every popular fragrance, you can also buy body wash, lotion, bath bombs, and gifts sets with this scent.

Anastasia Beverly Hills—Eyebrows

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel is my daily go to for my eyebrows. It does what it’s supposed to, it doesn’t flake, and it holds your eyebrows in place for hours! As you can see, the letters on the tube have rubbed off, probably because I use it almost every day. That goes to show you how great it works! Another great brow product is Anastasia’s Brow Pomade in the shade “light brown”—I usually use the pomade when I put on a full face of makeup.

Biosilk & RUSK—Hair Care

Biosilk Color Therapy Lock & Protect Treatment has kept my colored hair from fading and it smells great. I usually put it on when my hair is still wet, along with my RUSK Thermal Shine Mist. I use both of these to keep my color from fading and to protect my hair from the heat. I received my RUSK spray through Birchbox and I loved it so much that I had to buy a full size.

Body Prescription—Deep Cleaning Wipes

Body Prescription’s Collagen cleansing wipes removes all of my makeup and doesn’t irritate my eyes, which has been hard to find for me! Luckily I got these on sale with a pack of 3, but I am down to my last couple in my last pack! These wipes have an advanced collagen formula to deep cleanse and keep your skin healthy. I use these to clean my face in the morning and at night, and to take my makeup off.

That’s all for my beauty favorites and empties for this month, and next time I will try to include some different products to feature! If you have used any of the products above, let me know what you do or do not like about them! Thank you for reading!

  1. I love Benefit’s Pore Primer! it’s honestly perfect for my greasy skin when it’s so hot out lately. If you haven’t already checked it out, I would highly recommend Makeup Forever’s primers. They really stay put on my skin, and I think they might actually work better than Benefit’s – but to each their own!
